Ancient-site tours in San Ignacio

San Ignacio tours divide by distance. Xunantunich, 13 km west across the hand-cranked ferry at San Jose Succotz, is a half-day visit, often combined with cave tubing, Barton Creek Cave or a zip line; the same tours sold from Belize City or Placencia make a far longer day. Caracol, the largest Maya site in Belize, takes a full day on rough roads through the Mountain Pine Ridge, usually with lunch and a waterfall. Both sites close in mid-afternoon.
