UNESCO World Heritage sites in Germany

All three German entries stand in Trier, the Roman Augusta Treverorum, and all belong to one listing: Roman Monuments, Cathedral of St Peter and Church of Our Lady in Trier. The Porta Nigra, the best-preserved Roman city gate north of the Alps, is where most tours start. The Trier Imperial Baths, with their underground service corridors, and the Trier Amphitheater on the slope at the east edge of town are a walk away. A day covers all three, and the city sells a combined ticket for its Roman sites.
