Greece's oldest entries are dated from their first palaces, not from the earliest people on the spot. Phaistos, Knossos and the Palace of Malia, all on Crete, head the list with Minoan palaces of about 2000 to 1900 BC, although Phaistos was settled by around 3600 BC and Knossos far earlier, in the Neolithic. Mycenae follows with its Cyclopean walls of about 1350 BC. Ancient Olympia is dated by the traditional first Games of 776 BC, and the Ancient Agora of Athens closes the list from the sixth century BC.
